| Folding a kimono or yukata properly ensures that the garment
lasts for a very ling time and helps keep it wrinkle free. You can wrap
your kimono in white tissue paper and store it in a box or on a shelf. The
tissue will help absorb excess moisture. |

| 1) Lay out your kimono so that the sleeves are flat and back are flat
and square. |
2) Fold back the front of the kimono at the first seam. Turn down the
collar and smooth out any creases. |
3) Keeping the collar down, pull one side across until it matches with
the other side. Make sure the corners are even and that the long sides of
the collar are flat against each other. |

| 4) Pull the sleeve of the same side across to match the opposite sleeve.
You should be folding along the back seam and the front seams. Make sure
all corners match up and there are no wrinkles. |
5) Fold the top sleeve back at the seam that joins it to the body. |
6) Fold the opposite sleeve over the next. |
7) Fold the bottom hem up to match the corners of the top. Wrap in paper
and store. |
